Glamour is Exciting

“You have to be as supportive of it as you can be, and you have to surround yourself with people who have the same goals as you,” said Betty Garcia, the mother of 16 year-old actor and model Fabbielle Garcia. Betty was referring to the guidance of the Nijah / New Faces Development team. “Everyone knows that this a hard industry, but the excitement of seeing my son getting requests and walking the runway are enough to believe this is right for him.”

Betty completely trusted the Nijah / New Faces Development staff with developing her son. “I know his personality and he's very driven. Fabbielle is very persistent, and he knew he wanted to do this, so coming to Nijah / New Faces Development was the next step.” Fabbielle has always been interested in modeling, he says, “but the more glamorous side of modeling caught my interest. High fashion, luxury brands. I've always loved that stuff.”

At sixteen, he doesn't feel like he is missing out. “The fact that I am really young is an advantage. I still have a lot of time to experience other things, besides for acting and modeling. I really want to go to college, and take advantage of every experience. I love art and architecture.” Of her son's unlikely career choice, Fabbielle's mother doesn't worry. “He has a good head on his shoulders and a great team behind him.” Fabbielle looks forward to big things, “I'd love to work with GQ and Vogue, and have an acting career like Johnny Depp's. He's versatile and interesting.”
